Irene Nicola and Ben Noir are duo “Tit for Tat”. A sizzling cabaret duo who will add a fun hit of musical spice to the evening. Performing an eclectic mix of songs from jazz to pop, some classical, originals, and a few surprises!
Featuring exquisite harmonies and multi-lingual skills, with Irene’s powerful and inspiring voice, impressive piano playing and Ben's unique 4 octave vocal range and accordion touch.
Irene Nicola is Sydney's joyfully chaotic clown of burlesque, musical comedy and cabaret. Having written and performed her own original work for over a decade, Irene is a delight on any line up. Irene has performed in the cabaret and burlesque spaces independently across Australia with her original one-woman cabaret variety-style shows, A Postmodern Striptease(2013-2017), Revenge(2018), and the multiple award-nominated Apocalypse Please(2019-2023).
Irene was a finalist in the Sydney Cabaret Competition(Sydney Cabaret Festival 2019) and performs regularly at Bamboozle Room's “Talk and Tease”. She is also working on a brand new musical called “Mary Mary” as composer, musical director and script consultant.
Ben caught a nearly break as a featured acrobat, tumbling across the screen in Baz Luhrmann’s hit film Moulin Rouge(2001) dressed in a fat suit! Turning to his vocal talents, he regularly performed the uber-aria “Diva Dance” from The Fifth Element at Claire's Kitchen in the highly acclaimed “Le Salon Dada” created by Claire deLune.
He has toured extensively internationally, sharing the bill in 2018 at the Vienna Boylesque Festival with Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst and performing by invitation at the Australian Embassy in Paris.
Ben has made television appearances on “The Voice Australia”(2019) where he wowed the judges with a unique but impressive version of Mozart's “Queen of the Night” aria - an impressive feat sung by a “6 ft tall bloke who looks like a footy player", as Guy Sebastian put it.
He was invited to perform on Britain's Got Talent(2020), where although Simon Cowell didn’t like his pink underwear, he impressed the other judges with his unique and impressive vocal range. Appearing on Australia’s Got Talent(2021) he cheekily tricked the judges and Australian audiences into thinking that he was actually French (hilariously singing opera, completely naked behind a towel) so much so that the French invited him to perform on their franchise of their show “La France a un Incroyable Talent” in 2023.
Ben also regularly performs with Irene at the Bamboozle Room's “Talk and Tease”.
